It was named Triangular Trade based on the shape that was created by the sailing route taken by British slave traders. This was from Europe to Africa, Africa to the Americans and from Americans to Europe again

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF THE TRIANGULAR TRADE?
Some Causes Of The Triangular Trade Are:
Racism
Labor demand in the Americas
Profitability of slave trade

Effects - Social Effects: Displacement and enslavement of 12-15 million Africans who were taken away from their homes and sold into slavery

Family separation and cultural disruption: Enslaved people were often separated from their families and communities, leading into disintegration.

Racism - The trade perpetuated(continued) racist ideologies(beliefs) and reinforced social hierarchies(system or class)

Advantages !

The triangular trade provided two key benefits. Resources that would be used to make products in their industries, trading that could get these resources cheaply and it also provided the Europeans with a market for their finished goods.

Disadvantages

While it generated profits for some, it had severe consequences for various groups. Harsh working conditions caused high disease risk such as; malaria( casued by mosquitoes), yellow fever, family separation, cultural loss, brutal treatment and death.
